365 Days of Ikebana-Day 114

Fall is a time for the celebration of the harvest, and there is no better time to do a morimono arrangement. In basic terms it’s really a big centerpiece that can include fruits, vegetables, root, flowers and leaves. It’s kind of piled up much like a moribana, but made to be pleasing to the eye and make the best use of the materials. I used some root vegetables (red onion and garlic), fruit (apple and pears,) a couple of Festival squash, some balloon vine and a very large red banana leaf. Two basic grouping of materials joined together with the vines. This is an arrangement that anyone can do for a fall celebration table.
