365 Days of Ikebana-Day 128

Just a quick arrangement today, not easy considering the vase I used. I got this glass vase as a gift, and I just did not have any idea how I was going to use it. It seems simple enough, and that is the deception. You really have to work to be able to make something interesting AND to be able to balance it so it won’t fall over. The latter makes it very frustrating, but also enjoyable. First I have to create a suitable design and then see if I can balance it, if anything it teaches me how to be more patient. I used a lovely stem of white cymbidium orchids and a single monstera leaf, and believe it or not the orchid stem was the heavier material. The arrangement is photographed at a slight angle with more of the leaf surface showing, I like the curve it makes in the design. Not bad for a quick balancing act.
