365 Days of ikebana-Day 19

My last day with the manipulation of equisetum, and I am ready to move on to something else. It feels much like I am phoning it in today, and that is a terrible feeling. This isn’t an easy project, and I knew that going into it. I’m doing for a reason, and that reason is that I want to get better at doing ikebana. So after much thought I realized that I am doing something every day and that’s what it is all about. Building up the habit of daily creating is the basis of freeing creativity. It’s not something that just happens from the start and on command, it’s a series of peaks and plateaus.

I enjoy how the equisetum mimics the rectangles in the container. I like the mid-century modern look of this.
