365 Days of Ikebana-Day 260

Our material for our Sogetsu ikebana class tonight was cherry branches and azalea, and we were asked to do a either a horizontal nagiere or moribana. Luckily I took a tall vase for nagiere, and I think it’s much easier to make a truly horizontal design in. The cherry gives it a great horizontal line, but the azalea brings a depth and wonderful contrast in color to it. I’m absolutely loving the azaleas this year, such a delight to work with and I hope to get my hands on more.
