In the freestyle ikebana I did today there are two stems of red amaryllis, one is straight up and the other is inverted in an upside down position. The upside down stem is wired in two places to the taller upright stem, to keep the upside down bloom fresh you simply add some water into the hollow stem. The finishing touch is a stem of kiwi vine, to add some interest and movement.
