Here is the other ceramic piece that I bought at Manassas Clay, it’s a sweet little piece by Linda Becketti. It’s really small, a cup that you can hold in your had comfortably. In it I used one of the “Mickey Mouse” anthuriums, fading and drying but they still have some beauty and a single craspedia. The colors of the the materials and the cup are just so in line with one another and I love how it looks. In an earlier version I tried using a fresh pink hyacinth stem and it wasn’t bad, but I removed it to show more of the negative space (after all, less is more) and make the tones in the cup and materials more cohesive. Amazing that such a small work can be so lovely (at least to me). I am adding the original version for comparison, I still like it and just want some feedback.
