Today I tried to so a variation of a floating arrangement, and it is not working for me. I like the elements, chinese lanterns and palm fronds. It’s just not hitting the mark for me. Great color and a bit of movement, but you don’t see the water element and I used way too many lanterns, pretty much gets a failing mark from my inner critic. While it doesn’t work, it does help me think about what I can improve and I don’t feel so bad about making something I don’t love. Right now, as it should always be, it is about the act of creation. Bad or good it all is part of getting better at it, and you do that by doing the work every single day.

Maybe try knotting or cutting some of the palm fronds to create move variations?
That’s a great idea Sarah! I kept thinking that there must be some way to take the arrangement a bit farther, thanks for the suggestion!
