My bittersweet vine theme continues for one more day, I was inspired by this bowl I received from my partner last month for my birthday. I turned it upside down and used the holes in it to build the ikebana. Kiwi vines as the base and a mass of bittersweet vines on the other side. I had a single chinese lantern pod that I used to finish the piece(and it picks up the opening orange bittersweet berries). Bittersweet and kiwi vines are some of my favorite materials, and I wanted to use the bittersweet while it is still fresh and pliable. It’s one of those invasive plants but I love it anyway.

Stunning
Thanks you Charisse, it’s one I really had fun making!
It’s not hard to find, but it is seasonal. It grows wild (as it is an invasive vine) here in the east, and I usually start seeing it with berries twards the end of August. Try checking with a floral wholesaler near you to find out availability and price. Good luck!
