365 Days of Ikebana-Day 317

Each day I am looking for materials that inspire me, or try to find some element that interests me to use in my work. Today the dried hosta leaf from one of the ikebana arrangements made a few days ago was my starting point. I liked the way it had dried, the shape, the color, the way the veins of the leaf showed. It’s easier for me when I have that interesting starting point that pulls me in and starts the work in a direction. At that point I just play with different combinations of things and use the creative flow that’s begun and let the work take shape.

That’s an excellent observation, it really does look like modern fabric with metal threads!
